You may well receive emails that
look like they've come from
Fidelity Bank, asking you to
disclose all of your security
information, bank details or
remit funds to any entity
whether as payment of any tax or
levy or to enable you receive a
special prize or lottery
winnings from any organization.
DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE MAILS:
These are very likely to be
“phishing” emails from criminals
looking to steal your money.
We will never ask you to
disclose all your personal, bank
or security details by email.
The people responsible for these
‘phishing’ emails send the same
message to as many email
addresses as they can find. They
don’t know your personal
security details and the aim of
the email is to obtain it and
use it to defraud you.
From time to time Fidelity Bank
will send out emails. Where we
can, we’ll include some more
information about you, like your
name and the name or number of
your home to prove our email is
a genuine communication.
We’ll never ask you to disclose
all your personal or security
details by email. If you receive
an email asking you to ‘verify
your account’, ‘confirm your
sign-in details’, ‘advising that
you provide your bank details to
enable you receive any prize or
funds purportedly received by
the Bank for your account’ or
‘requesting copies of your
international passport, drivers
license or other photo
identification’ or any similarly
worded request, it’s certainly a
scam.
Usually the links contained in
these ‘phishing’ emails will
direct you to a site that asks
you to ‘update’ or ‘verify’ your
details on the page. Be warned –
these can appear to be genuine.
Don’t click on these links or
provide any of your security
details.
Genuine emails from Fidelity
Bank may contain links, but
they’ll never take you directly
to the
Online Banking log-in
page.
Take a look at our guide on scam
emails to help protect yourself.
If you’re ever in doubt about
whether an email is genuine,
don’t click on its links or open
any attachments. Please forward
it to us at
webmaster@fidelitybankplc.com.
We won’t be able to reply
individually but we do
investigate every email to make
sure that fake sites are closed
down as quickly as possible. |
